After you get the latest version of Flash, you'll be able to play around with Harmony!
What is harmony? To understand harmony, you first need to understand melody. Melody is a group of notes played one after the other. Melody is the tune. It's often the easiest part of music to remember, the part that you hum.
Harmony is also a group of notes, except these notes are played behind, beneath, and around the melody. Harmony supports the melody and gives the music texture or mood. You can change how a piece of music sounds by changing only the harmony. The same melody will sound very different if you play it with one harmony or another.
We've got two ways for you to experiment with harmony:
- The SFS Harmonizer
See and hear how harmony can change the mood of a song.
- The Harmony Viewer
Like to read music? See the written music (called notation) and hear how harmony can change the sound of a song.
